Once again I have just created two mixes in rapid succession. While the most recent, Alone In the Night: The Babylon Project was a completely new project, in this case I was revisiting a compilation I had considered successful. This new assembly is very similar to the old one, but with some minor revisions and alterations in program material.

What a particularly delightful score David Newman's Jingle All the Way is!!! The music sounds like an impossibly cheerful action movie; it rivals David Shire's Max Dugan Returns in its good-naturedness! While I tend to like Newman's comedy scores, this one is exceptional.

SCORING REALITIES
I've often reflected that since what I love film music is that it tends to be inherently dramatic, much of the source of my attraction to it is exactly what many people avoid when listening to music. jailnurse grabbed me yesterday and dragged me hither and yonder, over hill and dale, through counties whose names time has long forgotten to pick up some exercise equipment yesterday. It's interesting that I've had not one but two ideas kind of spring forth at once. Since the inexplicable explosion of mix-making I had earlier this year, the only project that I'd really been working on since was the Alex North epic set. I've been listening to a lot of music of late. Some of it is new stuff, some discs I've had for a while that I haven't played in some time.
